About UJIMA Therapeutic Services
Discover the Heart and Legacy Behind UJIMA Therapeutic Services
Olinka L. Clark, LCSW, CFSW, CADAC V
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, I am deeply committed to providing culturally competent and inclusive therapy services to individuals and families from all walks of life. Rooted in the African principle of UJIMA—collective work and responsibility—my practice reflects the belief that healing is not only personal, but deeply communal.
UJIMA Therapeutic Services was born from a vision to honor and extend a family legacy of resilience, faith, and service. My journey is not just my own—it is one I proudly share with my three children, who have witnessed the power of transformation through purpose and perseverance. Together, we live what I call legacy living—the daily practice of turning pain into purpose, barriers into bridges, and lessons into legacy.
I am intentional about passing this torch to my ten grandchildren and the generations that will follow. My work, my words, and my walk are all guided by a desire to ensure that they inherit more than material success—they inherit strength, self-worth, and the courage to create change. My story, and the story of UJIMA, is a testament that legacy is not what we leave behind—it is what we build and live every day.
With a deep understanding of the impact of systemic oppression, historical trauma, and social determinants of health on mental well-being, I approach therapy through a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens. My practice is grounded in empathy, cultural humility, and social justice, as I walk alongside clients in exploring the intersections of identity, culture, and healing.
I specialize in treating substance use, gambling addiction, depression, and anxiety, with a particular focus on the unique challenges faced by Black communities. Through evidence-based and strength-based practices, I help individuals heal, reclaim their power, and redefine their narratives.
In addition to my clinical work, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, which provides me with firsthand insight into how the criminal justice system impacts Black individuals and families. This experience allows me to bring a compassionate, informed, and advocacy-centered approach to my work.
At UJIMA, my mission is both professional and personal—to honor the past, heal in the present, and build a legacy of wellness for generations to come.

UJIMA Therapeutic Services was born out of a deep-seated passion to make mental health care accessible, relatable, and effective for BIPOC communities. As someone who has personally navigated the complexities and challenges faced by marginalized groups, I understand the importance of having a safe space where individuals can be heard, understood, and supported. My journey began with the vision of creating a nurturing environment that respects and honors the unique experiences of each client. With years of professional experience and a commitment to ongoing education, I am equipped to provide tailored individual counseling, family counseling, and group therapy sessions that consider cultural nuances. My approach is not just about addressing immediate concerns but also empowering my clients with the tools and insights needed for sustainable emotional well-being. At UJIMA Therapeutic Services, I believe in the power of community, resilience, and healing, and I'm here to walk alongside you on your path to healing, wellness and wholeness.
In the meantime, be well! ~ Olinka L. Clark, Founder/CEO/Psychotherapist
